Rose Rambler 16th March 2023

Hello Dear Rose Friends,

Beautiful autumn weather with sunny days and cool nights–lovely to snuggle under our woollen blankets ... Mooi loves her alpaca ‘wrap’ which she nestles her way underneath and despite the fact that we get up when it’s still dark, no way is she getting out of bed any time before 8am!

... Yes, indeed lovely sunny days but the cool nights can cause a bit of grief with moisture staying on rose foliage overnight–combination of cool/damp is a lure for fungus like black spot and mildew so be prepared and spray the organic rose management program BEFORE issues occur ...

Rose Management Program

With cooler nights there’s moisture in the air and rose foliage may stay wet overnight so it’s time now to religiously apply the Organic Rose Management program.

To 10 litres of water add:

It’s important to thoroughly mix the powders and products by sloshing them between buckets before application and once mixed, you must use the solution within hours as it will become ineffective if stored for later use!

Spraying or pouring over your roses early in the morning is best because the stomata (pores, just like in your skin) are open and receptive to this wonderful blend of products to ensure healthy foliage right up until winter when we expect foliage to drop so that we can set about pruning.

Always remember that healthy foliage = continued flower production! Without healthy foliage, your roses will not be able to flower right up into winter so fertilizer and application of the rose management spray is imperative NOW.

A giggle for you ...

Q: What do you get if you mix rain and brains?
A: A brain storm!
