Hello Dear Rose Friends,
What a sensational week we’ve had here at Clonbinane with nearly all the roses flowering now … it’s so easy to get side-tracked when weeding a garden bed but then, it is one of our rules … ‘take time to smell the roses’ so let the weeds wait!
Yesterday we had Healesville Garden Club visit and it was a real joy to take them on a walk and talk in the garden – organize for your group to come for this lovely experience and then sit under the trees for picnic lunch.
If you would like to book a group, please email:
info@rosesalesonline.com.au or phone during business hours: 0418 33 77 65 and we’d love to see you soon.
… It was interesting yesterday to watch our visitors marvel at how simply and easily I was trimming spent flowers as we wandered through the garden – the Lowe secateur makes dead-heading and pruning an absolute pleasure because it cuts so easily … if you don’t already own a pair, treat yourself and I’ll throw in the sharpener for half-price …
Lowe 5 secateur with sharpener $86.75 plus pack/post makes an ideal gift if you’re getting organised for Christmas!

So you can enjoy pruning even thick branches with ease!
SHARING EMAILS ...
Hello from Adelaide, My rose order arrived safely today. Imagine my surprise when there were two roses in the box, not one!! I acknowledge your note which indicated that the roses were too small just to send one (!) but I would like to thank you nonetheless for a very kind and generous gesture. It was a very pleasant surprise. |
Because we use 100% organic methods in our rose management, the odd rose will indeed be packed with a slug or snail at the base of the pot – earlier there was the odd aphid which grew to an adult in transit and in future, there might be a caterpillar or perhaps a white-fly!
Don’t worry, Mother Nature and the Eco range of products will take care of any undesirables and most importantly, be glad that we’re totally organic and know that you can be too!
One more to praise our wonderful team who pack your roses …
Hi, I just wanted to say how impressed I am with not only the quality of your roses, but the efficiency of orders and how well the roses are packed. |
POPULAR VARIETIES BACK IN STOCK …
Some roses we simply can’t live without and these beauties are now available again in our online store so go shopping at www.rosesalesonline.com.au if you thought you’d missed out this season …
Q: Why did the monkey put a piece of steak on his head?
A: He thought he was a griller.
There are many events and open gardens this weekend; the Victorian Rose Society are holding their Annual Rose Show.
You might well enjoy entering a few of your prize-winning specimens – it’s so much fun and I thoroughly enjoyed being Judge at the Whittlesea Show last weekend … yes, I do take it seriously, especially when the quality is so outstanding …
Barb won the championship exhibit and thanks to my daughter, Joy who made my name tag – take a close look! Humour is the best medicine!!!
Another giggle for you ...
Q: What do you get when you cross a duck with cheese?
A: Cheese and Quackers!
May you enjoy planting a few roses in your garden this week. Be sure to take your secateurs and a bucket of water to trim flowers for a vase in your home at every opportunity!
