Hello Dear Rose Friends,
What a spectacular Easter weekend it was here in Victoria with sunshine in bucket-loads! Thank you to all who visited and enjoyed our nursery display and ventured into the gardens … then, a most amazing rain event which has drenched our roses and we can hear them thanking the rain Gods as they’ll get on now to afford us their awesome beauty for weeks into autumn after we fertilized every single one of them before the rain …
… this truly is a most awesome start to autumn with our deciduous trees starting to turn and ready to put on their magnificent display during coming weeks.
NOW is the time of year when you should just jump in the car and come for a drive into our glorious part of the world. Customers step out of their vehicles gasping at how magnificent the nursery looks and then are tempted to wander in the gardens … go on, treat yourselves!
HARVESTING ROSE HIPS NOW … I become a bit of a thief at this time of year when I see rose hips ready to be picked so the seeds can be planted soon … here’s what to look for …
Once harvested, leave them to ripen and I’ll follow through soon with instructions on what to do for those seeds to become new rose plants.
