"The glory of gardening: hands in the dirt, head in the sun, heart with nature. To nurture a garden is to feed not just the body, but the soul."
- Alfred Austin
HOLLYHOCK SEEDS POSTED … Here’s a pic of Diana husking the Hollyhock seeds which she’s harvested after a most exquisite flowering of this amazing plant – more than 40 envelopes of seeds were posted this week as promised in earlier Rose Rambler.

When you receive your pack of seeds, plant them into a prepared area of moist, well-composted soil, soak when planted and wait, as we did, for the glory of Hollyhock flowering in your garden next year; then, of course, please send a photo of this beautiful plant flowering in your garden!
If there are any more of you who would love to have seeds, please email your postal address and we’ll send some for you too!
Wow, right on 9am last Friday morning, a customer drove in and we were in full swing and ready to open our business for gate sales in 2025 …

FRIDAY, SATURDAY, SUNDAY and MONDAY – 9.00AM – 4.00PM

Please understand that phones are manned during open times so rather than leave messages, please email info@rosesalesonline.com.au because we can organize response during our closed times.

Also know that you can order roses 24/7 at www.rosesalesonline.com.au and if you have issues or questions about the roses you’re ordering, perhaps check in with email rather than phone us.
HAVE A GIGGLE ...
Q. What did the duck say to the comedian after the show?
A. You really quacked me up!
SUMMER ROSE PRUNING …
Taking the bull by the horns, Diana showed attendees last weekend that you can heavily prune a rose at any time of the year – especially if you need to relocate it – and this is what our 30+ year-old Iceberg standard rose looks like after the pruning demo last Sunday …
The rose Diana pruned won’t be relocated so we’ll take pictures in coming weeks to show how it responded to this drastic mid-summer prune.
SPECIAL OFFER THIS WEEK …
Whilst watering on last Sunday morning – a glorious morning with no wind, music playing in the background, enjoying every moment of what might seem a rather tedious daily task watering 1,500 potted roses, I stopped in my tracks, set the hose to soak a flower bed and took these pictures …
PURCHASE ALL FOUR ROSES FOR THE PRICE OF THREE – $127.50 plus pack and post (pack will weigh 15kg for four potted roses)

Here’s a picture of the flower beds where local bees have gorged themselves and we’ll reap the rewards with a jar of local honey from our neighbours!
Enjoy all the moments in your garden this week …

cheers from Graham, Diana, Mooi and the team here at Silkies Rose Farm, Clonbinane.
