Prepare Your Roses for Autumn
Hello Dear Rose Friends,
Just to prove that summer can be hot and that February is our hottest month in Victoria, we’ve had a really hot spell this past week. How the roses LOVE IT when the sun shines and it’s hot!
Ben asked me to convey his immense thanks for all the lovely messages for his birthday – he hopes you enjoy the gorgeous roses he selected and boxed to send for you to enjoy in your garden for the next 40 years!
Complete Organic Fertiliser
Yes, the roses love it hot but by golly, you be sure to have turned the tap on and given them a great deep-soaking. At least 20 litres per rose in each soaking at least once a week.
Always best to do prior to such intense heat but even whilst it's hot, turn the tap on and you’ll see yourself admiring the most healthy, robust, free-flowering roses!
If you haven’t done frequent fertiliser applications in past months, autumn is the time when your roses will come into their best. To give them an opportunity to shine during this most lovely of seasons, give them a good sprinkling of organic pellet fertiliser NOW.
We use and highly recommend Complete Organic Fertiliser!

Organic Rose Management Program
With cooler nights there’s moisture in the air and rose foliage may stay wet overnight so it’s time now to religiously apply the Organic Rose Management program.
To 10 litres of water add:
- Small scoop Eco Seaweed powder
- ¼ cup Eco Fungicide powder
- ¼ cup Eco Oil Insecticide
Mix all the products in a bucket under good water pressure to dissolve the powders and then slosh from bucket to bucket which ensures the products are well mixed and ready for application.
Spray or pour over rose foliage to run-off.
If there are issues with red-spider mite insects or rust fungus, spray under foliage if possible and please note you cannot store this mixture so make an applicable amount according to the number of roses you’re spraying!
To ensure you grow healthy roses throughout this coming autumn and foliage stays lush right into winter apply the Organic Rose Management program at least once a month, fortnightly will be wonderful!
