Hello Dear Rose Friends,
After a very welcome dump of over 30mm of rain this past weekend, our roses look sensational. They’re potted into the very finest-quality potting media which includes coir fibre and Soilcharge’s nutrient-rich Living Earth, all labelled, pruned and ready for this coming flowering season.
The nursery is jam-pack filled with pots which, moving forward, will be sold ready to plant into your garden.
IMPORTANCE OF POTTING MEDIA SELECTION ...
Due to the extremely high-quality potting media we use, our roses transit super well – we often tell the story of a Forget-Me-Not rose which left here in February and traversed this country until, at Alice Springs, it was re-directed to its correct destination, Lismore in Northern NSW.
Meantime, we were in touch with the customer and also the destination Post Office to ask if they would kindly remove the birthday card from the gift box and pop it in the PO Box so at least Kelly’s Mum knew she hadn’t forgotten her birthday because the words on the card were beautiful, we remember!
In the meantime, we sent a new rose because it was a foregone conclusion that Forget-Me-Not was probably dead … after exactly 28 days, the box was finally returned to us (sender) and I kicked it when I saw it because I was so very disappointed – both for Diana who puts a lot of effort into gift-wrapping the gift roses and hand-writing cards but also for Kelly’s Mum who didn’t receive her beautiful rose on time.
Later that day I opened the box and despite the stems being black, the base of the rose was very much alive so I became excited, trimmed the dead branches away and put the whole pot into a seaweed solution soak where it stayed for about an hour.
That Forget-Me-Not rose is a wonderful specimen in our gardens today which is proof that adding all the vital ingredients at potting time and then diligently caring for the rose at all times, our roses will definitely transit well so that you can enjoy purchasing our potted roses throughout coming seasons …
