New Season & Gra's Promo Bundle
It’s not often the 1st day of the month occurs on a Thursday when we send our Rose Rambler but this is also the first day of a new season as today is also the first day of winter, 2023!
I’m sure you all, like us, hope it’s not as sopping wet as last winter but we’re well-prepared for what we expect to be a very cold winter …
… It’s been a number of years since we shared our MISSION STATEMENT with you so here it is again as a testament to our continued service to you, our customers:
- Advance the enjoyment of gardening;
- Educate the public to make gardening simple and fun;
- Encourage people to be aware of our environment;
- Provide information on the latest research into horticulture and
- Promote ideas to enable people to be creative in their own gardens.
We hope you agree that since we first committed to this by hanging it in our nursery shop and Rose Café at our Kilmore premises back in 1990, we’ve held true to our mission.
Other business owners requested a copy of our Mission Statement. They were keen to copy our transparency, our willingness to ‘put our neck on the line’ so now, 33 years later, we’d be thrilled to have your feedback about your experience with our business: info@rosesalesonline.com.au
Managing Your Existing Roses This Winter
… ignore your roses from now until it’s time to prune them later this winter - do let your rose plants experience some cold weather before you prune!
Allowing your roses to rest is important. No more spraying, no more fertilizer; pick the last blooms for indoors and enjoy the fragrance as you walk past any flowering rose because it will be a few months now before you enjoy that sensation again!
Once they’ve defoliated, there will be new shoots down low on the bush very quickly and if you take note of the new shoots, you’ll know exactly where to prune … the rose will show you the way!
Joke …
Don’t worry about your smartphone and TV spying on you. Your vacuum cleaner has been gathering dirt on you for years!
Posting Roses This Winter
… We’ve received notification from Australia Post that they’re quitting leaving a note that your parcel is at the post office in case you’re not home to take delivery!
Please note that at every opportunity, we’ll put your contact details on the consignment notification (address label) which means you MUST TAKE NOTE of email and mobile phone tracking notifications to know when your roses are arriving this winter.
If you’re going away during winter and you are waiting on delivery of bare-rooted roses this winter, please let us know via email: info@rosesalesonline.com.au so that we can follow your instructions.
Gra'S Rose Bundle
… I simply couldn’t live without these three roses in my garden:
There’s definitely no doubt that I absolutely LOVE fragrance and form in roses but as it happens, those three magnificent roses are supremely healthy too and I fondly remember taking bunches of Nahema to my dear Mother-in-Law, Miep, who revelled in their glorious fragrance and form too!
If you only have room for three roses, then you’ll be supremely happy with my recommended varieties … delivered to your door during this winter – three of my most favourite roses for just $99.55
A giggle for you …
Q: When is a door not a door?
A: When it's ajar!
Remember, we’re commencing posting bare-rooted roses from Monday, 5th June so we’ll be ‘head-down-bum-up’ for weeks and weeks. We’re so grateful that we’ve got a great team of happy workers assisting us!
Enjoy your winter garden moving forward … don’t prune until we run a special offer on the best secateurs you’ve ever pruned with … maybe next week!
Love from Gra, Diana, Mooi and the happy team at Silkies Rose Farm.
