Hello Dear Rose Friends,
Welcome to all our new Rose Rambler subscribers who watched us on Gardening Australia … we feel enormously privileged to have shared our story with the lovely ABC team - here’s the link if you would like to view it again:
Since we’ve been growing roses organically, naturally, for almost 40 years, we trust you’ll find our weekly email filled with useful information, a silly joke or two and a great opportunity to connect you with our broader sustainable gardening community. You’ll always get a response when you email info@rosesalesonline.com.au requesting assistance if/when you have issues in your rose garden or you would like advice on selecting the right varieties for your new rose garden.
With Mother’s Day this Sunday, our GIFT CERTIFICATE offer is still available –
Purchase a $50 voucher and we’ll add $10 store credit on receipt of your order
A $60 voucher will afford the recipient an opportunity to select an established potted (maybe flowering) rose posted now for autumn planting or two bare-rooted roses posted to their door during winter!
It’s time to get serious about ordering bare-rooted roses for this winter
so I’ve asked Diana to be first-cab-off-the-rank in offering her selection of a rose bundle.
The rules of the game are, each of us can only select THREE roses for this bundle offer so Diana has selected these.
SHOP THIS BARE-ROOTED ROSE BUNDLE
We’ll pack and post those three exceptional varieties this winter as our first highly recommended rose bundle of 2023 for the special price of $89.90
(Note from Diana: it’s a tough ask to consider just three varieties from our 300 varieties which are totally amazing and excelled in 20cm pots this past year. I would prefer to select five varieties in each separate category but wasn’t given the privilege!)
Watch this space as Janelle will give her highly recommended three varieties next week, then Ben, then Jason and lastly, I’ll have a say too! So will Mooi!
A giggle for you ...
Q: How do you know the moon is hairless?
A: It spends half the month waxing!
ROSE PRUNING THIS WINTER
Three weeks ago, our local Shire staff pruned hedges of roses in Kilmore. I was a bit baffled by their timing so have kept an eye on the roses of course, they’re all pushing new growth so it will be interesting to see how they go through winter because I’m quite sure the Council won’t send staff back to do winter pruning … maybe they will?
I guess this proves a point – roses are so resilient, you can pretty much do what you want when you want … perhaps it’s about available time? Perhaps it’s about your mood at the time?
Maybe you’re going away this winter and would prefer to prune before you go so the roses are almost flowering when you return home. I believe it all works just as long as the roses are well-fed and regularly trimmed.
Next week we’ll go through the organic rose management program and offer a great special to gear you up for pruning as we move closer towards winter pruning time!
