Purple Rain – Ground covering rose which is dark purple/cerise in colour.  Clusters of medium-sized blooms massively cover the plant which is clothed in dark, glossy foliage ... supremely healthy rose in all climates and situations.

Several years ago I prepared a basket at the request of the Horticultural Society of Vic for their hugely popular ‘Basket Competition’ at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show. No prize winner at the show but still in the basket, plonked into a half-wine barrel, this amazing ground-covering rose is a huge delight, relatively neglected and will continue to flower for many months.

Definitely recommend this ground covering rose for a splash of bright colour in dull parts and blank spots in your rose garden or perhaps plant the verge in your street!
