Madame Alfred Carriere is an old-fashioned beauty - rambling rose which is the first and last to flower each season with a continual show of informal flowers of blush creamy white with intense fragrance. The lax canes are near thornless and this magnificent rose can be grown as a free-standing shrub to fill a corner of the garden.
If planting to cover an arch, I usually recommend a clematis be planted to cover the lower canes which generally stay bare while Madame produces masses of flowers in the upper storey of the plant.
A very highly recommended rose.
