Gold Medal can be relied upon to produce the very first perfectly formed golden yellow blooms in early spring and once the flowers start, there is a continual flush of sometimes single blooms but usually clusters of strong-stemmed flowers which are ideal for a vase.  

In cool weather, there is a blush of orange at the tip of each petal - a lovely, very reliable old hybrid-tea rose.
