Hello Dear Rose Friends,
There's just one more day until the school holidays start for Easter and we hope your plans are set for special time with kids on holidays and meeting with family and friends during the Easter break.
Silkies Rose Farm, Clonbinane will be closed on Good Friday but open every other day as usual 9am – 4pm.
EASTER ROSES
Instead of chocolate, give the love in your life a beautiful, appropriately named rose for Easter! Both roses look magical right now just in time for Easter and we’ll post them immediately to be sure they arrive before Friday …
HOT COCOA - Floribunda rose which has the most unusual range of colours from orange buds to chocolate to mauve.
The bush habit is rather upright and I would be sure that if pushed against a wall and wasn’t pruned, this bush would create quite a spectacular pillar/climbing rose.
HOT CHOCOLATE - is a memorable rose due to its unique colour - a deep dark orange when in bud and then chocolate brown as the bud opens.
A modern Floribunda rose with clusters of intense dark orange/chocolate brown flowers that will make you look twice.
We finally have a selection of rose pillars and arches for climbing roses, along with rose ring and pole kits for our magnificent selection of weeping roses.
These products are built locally and promise to offer you very sturdy and enduring support for roses in your garden.
Obelisk / Pillar
Suits many of the shorter climbing/pillar roses including the strong growing modern shrubs and David Austin Roses. Ideal to use where you want a tall display of continual colour as a screen away from fences where possums might be an issue!
This sturdy pillar frame fits nicely in my Rav4 with no passengers! $195.00 each.
Arch
Place this steel structure over a path/entrance to your garden and plant any one of the great selection of climbing roses on either side for the most romantic sight.
This kit-form arch will fit in any vehicle as it has been designed to construct by bolting six parts together - 2 metres wide, 60cms deep and 2.5 metres tall (allow at least 20cm into soil). $450.00 each.
Ring & Pole kit
Used to support weeping roses. This is built to support the weeper as it becomes very heavy under the weight of flowering canes and is essential if you want to grow a weeping rose. $92.50 each.
All of these can be purchased at our Clonbinane Rose Farm while supplies last. We hope to see you there!
Here's a giggle for you today.
Q: What do you get when you cross a flower and a bike?
A. Petals that pedal.

The Children's Rose - Produces highly fragrant blooms of soft powder pink which slowly unfurl to reveal a mass of swirling petals in fully double blooms. The flowering stems are mostly single, sometimes in clusters and are very long-lasting in the vase. There are very few thorns on the flower stems which means that the children themselves can pick the flowers!

Brother Cadfael - An early David Austin rose which has near-thornless dark brown wood and beautifully cup-shaped flowers which are ideal rose for a vase and flower arrangements.
Nahema (Free Rose) - Produces literally masses of highly fragrant and deeply cupped pale, China pink blooms in profusion throughout the season. The flowers are sensational to use in flower arrangements because of their durability in the vase and as the petals drop, a sight to behold!
You’re welcome to add this bundle of beautifully fragrant roses to your existing order but please let us know that you’re adding to an existing order.
ONE MORE GIGGLE BEFORE YOU GO:
Q: Did you hear about one flower who went on a date with another flower?
A: It’s a budding romance.
Talk to you next week! Cheers from Gra and Diana, Mooi and the team here at Silkies Rose Farm, Clonbinane …
