ROSE RAMBLER 2ND APRIL, 2020… Hello dear Rose Friends as we all realise this pandemic we’re living through isn’t a joke. Because we have contact with so many people through this newsletter and we are highly regarded for having supplied supreme quality roses for the past 30 + years to gardeners around Australia, we feel very connected to you all!
For a few months now, we’ve promised a whole new website and we’re thrilled to announce that www.rosesalesonline.com.au has a whole new look and ordering roses from all devices will be a breeze – if you find something which isn’t right, please contact us: info@rosesalesonline.com.au and for your efforts, I will add a FREE ROSE to your winter rose order. Thank you in advance!
A pinch and a punch for this new month! Let’s start with a bit of a giggle:
Q. What does a houseboat turn into when it grows up? A. A township.
Here are a few emails from this past week which we want to share…
"Thank you, Graham, Wonderful words of wisdom. Gardeners blood is precious blood because we just innately “know” things others must learn. I wish I needed a rose or two to support your business, but Bendigo is not kind climate wise, although I have bought roses from your wonderful property before.
A bit of humour. Our local nursery could not furnish us with our usual winter veg seedlings, they have been inundated with young people buying for the first time. One comment wryly passed on to us was this enquiry, “do you have to water them”?
The learning curve will be steep but let us hope your excellent advice will be taken up in spades and we have a new generation of gardeners learning to live, just for the joy of it! Kindest regards to you both, stay safe and well, Mary."
Thank you Mary – at every opportunity, I urge those of us who are considered ‘experts’ in gardening to take time when you’re walking down the street in your neighbourhood to stop and share your knowledge – you will be surprised by how our younger population who have an inkling of interest in gardening, want to know absolutely everything you know!

"Dear Diana and Graham - We are very sorry to read that you have had to TEMPORARILY close the doors at Clonbinane.
I wanted to thank you you for sending my 3 Grimaldi SO cosily, and securely packed. They jumped out happily, and straight into the ground yesterday [another horribly windy day,] and are looking very perky today. THANK YOU, and take care. Best wishes Winifred & Jim"
Yes, we are still posting roses – we are busy and want to stay that way since we have a nursery filled with beautiful potted roses ready to be planted this autumn …

Thank you so much for the kind and thoughtful newsletter. A salve to read last thing before bed. Kate
I’ve been planting veggie seeds and seedlings in amongst my roses – take a look at the results …
We encourage you to get out in your garden during this ‘lock down’ time – whilst out in the fresh morning air, take a big deep breath and hold for 10 seconds or more. If you can do this without coughing it’s a basic indication that there is no infection. Keep smiling during these trying times!
