Hello Dear Rose Friends,
As we prepare for our impending speaking engagement at the Australian National Rose Championships and Conference at Kiama on 30th April, we hope that if you’re in the area, you come along to visit this event. Please be sure to introduce yourself to us!
We’ll be speaking in the Kiama Pavillion from 10-11:45am on Saturday, during the judging of the Rose Championships. Afterwards, we’ll be sharing our knowledge as Consulting Rosarians (Rose Doctors) at a stand in the Hall. Here, we will showcase our environmentally friendly Eco-Rose Management Products and the Lowe secateurs which we highly recommend to all rose gardeners.
MEASURING RAINWATER
It's just as well we have readers out there checking up on what we write … please note this correction from last week.
Just a little bit of pedantry, but when you talk of rainfall, and calculating how much water falls on a roof, it is millimetres (mm) of rain, not Millilitres (ml).
If 1 ml of rain falls on your roof, there would be 1 ml in your tank!!!
It is a common mistake. Shortcuts in speech (and writing) can be misinterpreted.
Thanks so much to Rod for getting this sorted!
Since our roses look so sensational and there are still another few weeks of autumn gardening time, we’re offering this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to customers who can visit our Silkies Rose Farm this weekend, to celebrate our 10th Anniversary since relocating from Kilmore to Clonbinane in 2012.
Show the code NL10 at the shop for this special 10 year Birthday Anniversary promo.
Whilst in our region, please also support the Rotary Club of Southern Mitchell and Kilmore Art Society by attending the 2022 Kilmore Art Show. Saturday 23rd April will host Busking Championships when main street Kilmore comes alive with activity. It will be a great day out!
There’s too much going on so I only get to give you a joke this week …
A giggle to make you smile...
Q: What do you get when you cross a flower and a pickle?
A. A daffo-dill!
Sssshhhh…. I snuck in another several packets of daffodils this past week and I’ll let you know when they’re at their best for you to come and visit in spring!
We look forward to seeing you this coming weekend! Yes, we’ll be open on ANZAC Day from midday onwards so we hope to see you at the farm.
Enjoy this lovely autumn weather! Cheers from us here at Clonbinane
