Hello Dear Rose Friends,
Just when we thought the sun would never shine again, we welcomed some glorious sunshine this past weekend! Welcome to spring in your garden! Happily, we can now report that almost every rose order has now been fulfilled and we’re receiving emails every day about how abundantly the new roses are shooting and in some climates, they’re already flowering and delighting our customers!
Hi Diana, I picked up the roses this morning at the post office who commented how nicely packed the roses were! Which I also thought. The staff was interested to know where they were from.
I hope you and your family are well, as this flu season had many people pretty sick, including us.
Thank you again, Cathy
Adverse weather conditions and staff shortages due to illness during this past winter didn’t stop us from posting our beautiful roses and we thank you so much for being kind whilst you waited… We were all in this together!
A giggle for you …
Q: What do you get when you cross an alien with a tea party?
A: Flying saucers!
Many customers have called wanting to purchase standard roses but we needed to fulfil all pre-ordered commitments first. So there is a considerable list of standard roses available to purchase NOW on our website rosesalesonline.com.au
In a Melbourne Metro nursery last week I saw standard roses priced at $80.00, so if you’re thinking of adding a row of these lovely structural roses to your garden, perhaps now is the time to select any of the following varieties for just $49.50 each to be posted bare-rooted.
- Belle Parfum
- Best Friend
- Blackberry Nip
- Boscobel
- Charles de Gaulle
- Claude Monet
- Coeur de Neige
- Dark Desire
- Dear Father
- Earth Angel
- Ebb Tide
- Henri Matisse
- La Sevillana
- Princess Charlene
- The Children’s
- Thank You
- The Golden Child
- Twilight Zone
- Winchester Cath.
- Wild Cat
There are limited numbers of many other varieties however, if you don’t act quickly on this chances are they’ll be sold out! Once potted, we are unable to post our roses due to height limitations in Australia Post.
ALL BARE-ROOTED ROSES ARE STILL AVAILABLE FOR POSTING UNTIL 19TH SEPTEMBER, 2022
Some varieties have been potted for several weeks and are no longer available as bare-rooted so we can - of course - post potted roses to you now and also throughout spring, summer and autumn!
As Diana and I will be attending the World Federation of Rose Societies Convention in Adelaide during late October/early November, Silkies Rose Farm will not be represented at any of the upcoming local garden shows this year but we urge you to visit garden events in your locality.
Take a drive to enjoy country hospitality at Yea.

A: A sky-diver... of course!
Enjoy the sunny days of spring – the birds chirping, your roses starting to show healthy foliage and longer days to enable working in your garden either before or after work… Happiness for all of us..
Cheers from the team at Silkies Rose Farm, Clonbinane.
