ROSE RAMBLER, 13th AUGUST 2020 … Hello Dear Rose Friends from a very wet and soggy Clonbinane, as the rain just continues to drench us. You don't have to worry about Covid-19 not permitting you to come for a visit to collect your roses … rainy weather would prevent you from coming anyway!
We are now looking down the barrel of completing all orders for this past season before the end of August and just in time for spring! With another large consignment of roses being processed from today onward, you will be contacted in coming days if, after tagging and sorting this lot, there are still varieties which are not available to fill your order.
Our stock is currently low due to a variety of reasons, most which are Covid-19 related. Nearly all of us have been affected in some way but we will endure and get through this together. We hope to begin bringing out the new stock soon and will let you know as new roses arrive.
A Rose to Cheer You Up
While we don't have our usual stock to select from, we do have a few very beautiful roses. This week, we will take a moment to appreciate our rose for the week.

We haven’t even started to prune large parts of the rose gardens and the job will be a breeze when we do because the bushes are sprouting new foliage. We’ll trim to one of the largest growths, remove any dead wood and then fertilise all the beds.
Some roses may not be pruned at all this winter so we’ll get stuck into them in summer after their spring flowering. This works well here because we do get extremely frosty down low on the eastern side of the Hume Freeway, along the Sunday Creek.
Enjoy a bit of a giggle: Q. What do stylish kangaroos wear? A. Jumpsuits!
Despite what’s going on all around us, don’t panic. Know that nothing ever stays the same and enjoy being in Nature whenever possible. You will see and hear the birds, happily building their nests for impending new families. Daffodils and wattle herald early signs of spring… a special time of the year we all look forward to. A little fresh air will do us all some good.
The crisp fresh air with the delicate aromas of early spring flowers budding all around coupled with the sound of birds singing as they flutter about should help lift your spirits. It's important that we take time for ourselves and use this unique time in our lives to reflect and relax.
Take care of you and yours! Graham, Diana, Mooi and our dedicated team of helpers …
