Black Boy is an Australian bred rose which many people believe was the rose which grew in their grandparent's/parent's garden! The actual colour of the flower is not as dark as the name suggests and the rose we stock in the nursery today doesn't have anywhere near the fragrance of other dark-red climbing roses so I am reluctant to recommend this rose to my customers as it has caused disappointment over the years.
